In this online course, we learn what stress does to the body and mind and what you can do about it. Through learning meditation and other practices, you can learn to master awareness, your needs, your emotions, your communication and your purpose in life.
The course is loosely based on davidji's book "destressifying." The book is an option to purchase but excerpts are shared in the course. If you choose to purchase the book, there is a lot of valuable information in the book that you may find beneficial, especially if you are new to meditation.
We will break down stress and what it is and isn't and see how it can harm the body, mind and emotions. We counter this with our meditation practice, starting with simple body awareness and 16 second breath practices and continue from there.
Upon completion of course, you are eligible to register for 6 hours of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education.
Your Instructor
Deb Phelps is a certified Meditation Teacher and Practitioner since 1980. She is also a Mindfulness Coach, Sound Energy Practitioner, and Yoga Specialist who uniquely assists her clients to overcome stress, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and other life situations so that they can once again live purposeful, joy-filled lives. Deb has overcome significant life challenges aided by a variety of mind-body-spirit practices. By diligently using these tools over many decades, she found a life of contentment and equanimity. Through extensive education and life experience, including living for one year in a spiritual community, she assists and inspires others to do the same.
