In this course you will learn how to deepen your own practice of mindfulness. Mindfulness is foundational to all forms of meditation. With this established, our techniques can be developed. It is important to develop a stable mind by cultivating concentration. You will explore the variations of mindfulness and how it can help you with your thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and the cultivation of compassion and happiness.
If you choose certification, you will learn how to work with and coach students and clients with the practice of mindfulness in their everyday lives, including specialized areas such as stress, anxiety, trauma, eating, grief, and awakening happiness and joy.
In Mindfulness Coaching, you will both experience and learn the technique of a Mindfulness Dyad. The dyad allows a client to be gently guided as they mindfully allow all thoughts, feelings, and sensations arise as they share aloud.
You will also learn helpful tools that will assist clients with applying what they learn so that they may live mindfully. We work with our clients in a way that matches their unique needs for essential transformation of body, mind, and spirit.
Finally, you will learn how to write and record your own effective and profound guided meditations; as well as develop your own curriculum to facilitate classes, workshops, and retreats with your clientele.
Whether you are currently a Mindfulness Meditation practitioner, or would like to strengthen and deepen your practice, this course will lead you to provide the background, the experiences, and the practices.
The course can be completed in approximately five months if you can dedicate at least five hours per week to meditation and study. However, most people take longer to complete the course. A meditation log is provided to track 40 hours of meditation practice, which is a key component of the program. You can customize your meditation practice to be anywhere from 15 minutes to 60 minutes per day. Upon completion, the course offers 100-hour continuing education credits with Yoga Alliance.
Students receive a free 3 Month Membership to the Live Classes and On-Demand Library
Yoga Teachers: Upon completion of course, you are eligible to register for 100 hours of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education.
Your Instructor
Deb Phelps is the founder of Peaceful Wellness Institute and is an experienced Meditation Teacher and Practitioner since 1980, in addition to being a certified Mindfulness Coach, Sound Energy Practitioner, and Yoga Specialist. She offers a unique approach to help clients overcome various challenges such as stress, anxiety, PTSD, and grief, enabling them to live purposeful and joy-filled lives. Having faced significant life obstacles herself, Deb relied on various mind-body-spirit practices to overcome them and find a life of contentment and equanimity. With extensive education and life experience, including living in a spiritual community for a year, Deb inspires and assists others in their pursuit of a fulfilling life.
